Rachel DuPaul, PhD - Licensed Psychologist — Telehealth (Private Pay Only)
I provide online therapy via secure telehealth. I am licensed in: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY.

Primary Fit Anchor (Who This Is For)

I help high-functioning, anxious adults (typically ages 35–60) navigate anxiety, burnout, and relational decision-making. Many clients hold leadership roles or work in high-responsibility professions (law, business, executive roles).

Strong Fit Contexts (Common Presenting Concerns)

I work with adults who appear capable and successful externally but feel internally strained or privately questioning major areas of their life.

Many clients:

  • Over-function at work or in relationships

  • Struggle with chronic anxiety or perfectionism

  • Feel responsible for others’ emotional stability

  • Question their career path or long-term relationship

  • Grew up in families where emotional needs were minimized

By the time they reach out, they’re often experiencing:

  • Burnout and chronic stress

  • Boundary fatigue

  • Relationship insecurity

  • Persistent self-doubt

  • Decision paralysis

Common therapy focus areas:

  • Chronic Stress & Overcommitment

  • Career Burnout

  • Romantic Relationship Uncertainty

  • Codependency Patterns

  • Perfectionism

Not the Right Fit (Clinical & Administrative Boundaries)

This practice is appropriate for adults at a stable outpatient level of care.

It may not be a fit if you are currently experiencing:

  • Active suicidal intent or recent suicide attempts

  • Untreated psychosis or bipolar mania

  • Substance dependence requiring detox or intensive treatment

  • Ongoing domestic violence requiring immediate safety planning or crisis stabilization

In these cases, a higher level of care is more appropriate.

This practice does not provide:

  • Insurance-based care

  • Court-mandated therapy

  • Legal documentation (emotional support animal letters, custody evaluations, disability evaluations, etc.)

If unsure, a brief consultation can help determine fit.

Therapeutic Approach & Style

My work is insight-oriented and attachment-informed. We examine how early relational patterns and anxiety-driven over-responsibility developed — and how they continue to shape current decisions and relationships.

Sessions are 60 minutes, conversational, and structured. We combine insight with practical behavioral shifts in boundaries, communication, and decision-making.

I draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to interrupt anxiety loops

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) for career or relationship decisions

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for burnout and values misalignment

  • Assertiveness training to reduce over-functioning

Therapy begins weekly and may taper as stability and clarity increase.
